    Modernizing Your Indoors

    Sunday, April 11th, 2010

It should always be good to be able to get your dream house, complete with everything that you have always wanted in a house and more. This does not have to mean that you would need to buy a new house or anything to that extent because a simple change of look in and out of your house can prove to be very useful and you can get to enjoy a lot of things while doing it, than to buy a brand new house.

If you are in to the modern home design, it should be a bit easier since most of the designs that we have in the market today concentrates on the modern designs. You can always start with some wall art hangings. They should also be cheaper than the usual paintings that some famous artist would create so you’re probably saving money here. Color schemes are also important to have that modern look. Bright and bold colors can always give you that effect and it should really get the beauty out from your walls. Lastly, the patterns for your rooms… Wainscoting is very popular nowadays with the lower half of the room decorated with wood strips and the upper half wallpaper designs of your choice.

First step in designing a small house

    Monday, April 5th, 2010

I live in a small house right now that is just enough for my little family, compose of mu husband, my son, a helper and me. When we moved in to this house with 2 bedrooms and one room for our maid, we had a little problem designing it since we have lots of stuff that was given from our wedding and from our old house.

So we decided to hire an interior decorator to help us maximize this small unit that we have and use the resources we have as well. First problem came to us is to remove all items that we will not use anymore even if they have their sentimental value. That will really hurt me so much since I am attached to every small thing given to me and I think I still can use that thing in the near future.

I decided that instead of throwing away those things, I will give them to our friends or to my sister who can use them and if ever I’ll need it I can borrow it then. This first step was really hard but helpful and made me and my hubby relieved that we are left with few useful things now.

You can also use this tip when fixing your closet and need to give room to your new clothes. The rest of the interior decorator advice on my next entry.
